Manotick is filled with rich history, residential homes, river views, and family-friendly events.

  • Manotick was named after the Algonquin word for island. It was founded by Moss Kent Dickinson. He constructed what is now known as Watson’s Mill (later purchased by Harry Watson).

    Dickinson House was the first major building in Manotick. It was a bank, general store, telegraph, and post office.

  • Manotick has a population of about 5400 people.

  • The main landmark in Manotick is Watson’s Mill - the first sawmill in the area that was later turned into a museum.
