Stittsville is a large suburb of Ottawa filled with family-friendly activities, a strong sense of community, and plenty to see and do.

  • Stittsville was first settled by Irish soldiers in the 1820s. It is named after Jackson Stitt, the first postmaster in the area. It was originally called the township of Goulbourn.

    The entire town was destroyed in 1870 by the Great Carleton Fire.

  • Stittsville is a self-sufficient suburb, and you can purchase everything you need right in the area or beside it in Kanata. The main shopping centre in the area is the Jackson Trails Centre, but you can also check out the Stittsville Shopping Centre, Main Street Mall, The Shoppes at Fairwinds, Crossing Bridge Square, and Grant Crossing.

  • Check out the Bradley-Craig Farm on 590 Hazeldean Rd - this is Stittsville’s 147 year old historic landmark!

  • There are plenty of grocery options in Stittsville including all the main chain stores and plenty of individually owned shops as well!

  • Most Stittsville residents will head to Kanata for more nightlife options, but for a real ‘clubbing’ experience, will head into downtown Ottawa. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, and bars open late though!

  • Stittsville offers a ton of dining options in the area and in Kanata. From locally owned to large chain restaurants, there are all types of cuisine available, especially along Main Street and Hazeldean!
