South Keys

South Keys is a multicultural community with all types of homes from apartments to single family homes. The vast majority of residents speak English as their first language. It features the airport and surrounding hotels, as well as many Asian Markets, the Shopping Centre, and a golf club. It also has 3x the amount of green space as any other neighbourhood in Ottawa, including Sawmill Creek Wetlands and the Rideau River shoreline.

South Keys has an approximate population of 3000 people. Around the mall, expanding just past the borders of the neighbourhood, the South Keys Shopping Centre states nearly 9000 people live within a 1km radius of the mall, with an average household income of $77,418.

It was once called one of the 20 best neighbourhoods for first time home buyers in Ottawa!

South Keys has its very own shopping centre, known as the South Keys Shopping Centre! Inside, there are stores like Michaels, Indigo, Joe Fresh, GAP, and more.

There are plenty of grocery options around the South Keys neighbourhood! Check out plenty of locally owned stores like the New Middleast Supermarket, Ameer Grocery, and Savannah Afro Caribbean Products as well as the classics like Loblaws, Bulk Barn, Food Basics, and more!

There isn’t much night life in South Keys. Your best bet is heading down Bank Street into Centretown or the Byward Market.
