Ottawa Clothing Drive

On May 29th, New Purveyors came together with local Ottawa businesses to host Ottawa’s largest clothing drive in history.

Coordinating with Trexity, a local Ottawa delivery company that has expanded to multiple cities in Canada, and Craft and Crew, a B2B web design specialist, the team developed this event from the ground up.

Donors signed up online, and thanks to an outpouring of support from influential Ottawa locals, we received over 500 individual signups.

From here, Trexity drivers made their way around the city and picked up donations. Donors reached out to express their gratitude, due to busy schedules or mobility issues, sometimes the hardest part about donating clothes is actually bringing them to the charities.

Clothes were then dropped off at TD Place, where a team of volunteers unpacked, folded, and sorted the clothes. This method ensured that charities only received clothing that was helpful to their clientele.

We helped a great number of Ottawa charities, including:

Restoring Hope: Clothes for troubled teens.

Thrive Select Thrift: A thrift store whose proceeds go to Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa.

Ottawa Innercity Ministries: A local organization that specializes in supporting the Ottawa homeless community.

Fairy Godmother Ottawa: A prom dress loan service.

Footwear4Kids: An organization collecting childrens shoes to donate to local charities.

The Snowsuit Fund: An organization collecting snowsuits for children.

Dress For Success: An organization empowering women and gender nonconforming individuals through clothes, mentorship, and other resources.

In total, we collected more than 19,000lbs of clothing and distributed it amongst our supported charities.

A big thanks to every donor, volunteer, charity, and sponsored company who came together to make this event a smashing success.
